Every year, the university spends a week to recognize and celebrate the unique and important contribution staff make to our campus and community. The Office of Human Resources partners with the Staff Advisory Council to schedule a series of developmental sessions presented by subject matter experts covering two broad categories:

  • Professional development: Sessions regarding careers, with a goal of keeping participants up-to-date on current trends and develop new skills for the purpose of advancement.
  • Personal development: Sessions to better understand yourself and your unique personality, potentials, strengths, weaknesses, aspirations and talents to improve multiple aspects of life.

Sessions vary year to year and may be held in-person or online. With prior supervisory approval, all staff are welcome to join in (with no loss of pay or need for using accrued leave time) this enriching experience for staff members at work and beyond.
