The following instructions will only apply to new employees of the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Online NER Instructions

Complete four required preboarding forms in myHR

  • Instructions on completing the forms are included in an automated email with the subject line “University of Missouri New Employee Information.”
    • This email contains your university ID and temporary password.
    • If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your spam/junk folder.
  • Access myHR by visiting myhr.umsystem.edu to complete the forms.
    • Forms include setup for direct deposit, personal information and Forms W-4 and I-9.
    • This process should take about 15-20 minutes.

Upload employment eligibility and identification documents

  • Visit the Preboarding Secure Uploader for Virtual I-9s portal to upload your documents.
    • Please note you will see the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) branding on the site.
    • Use the authentication code provided in your department welcome email. If you did not receive a code contact muner@missouri.edu for assistance.
    • Include your last name on the uploader subject line.
  • Per U.S. Department of Homeland Security requirements, only original, unexpired versions can be accepted (no photocopies, faxes or electronic versions of any kind).
    • For reference, the list of acceptable forms is available on the second page of the federal Form I-9.

Verify your uploaded documents during a virtual NER visit

  • Make sure you have a web-accessible device with a camera. You will need to show the physical versions of your uploaded documents for inspection.
  • Access via Zoom
  • The virtual room is available Wednesday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect the visit to last 10-15 minutes, but note that high-volume hiring periods may result in longer wait times.
